This song was released in late 2009 in the UK and early 2010 in the US. I initially thought it sounded more like an early 2010s song but after recently hearing it again it sound sort of in between the two eras to me. The production is very akin to the late 2000s Timbaland-esque sound and the Ludicris feature dates it a bit. But at the same time it still is an electropop song and sounds similar to some very early 2010s songs. What do you think?

IMO its one of those songs that only belong in 2009/2010. So, technically both but only those years.
Other examples - "Rude Boy" by Rihanna, "I Got A Feeling" by Black Eyed Peas, "Down" by Jay Sean, "TiKToK" by Ke$ha

I would say it belongs exclusively in 2009/2010 as well.

It’s like one of the most quintessential early 2010’s songs.

This has quite a bit of R&B elements compared to his later singles won't have. Like compare this to say "Dynamite", an actually VERY early 2010s song, and it dates this one to the late 2000s side instead.

It's very Early 2010s, especially when compared to the Early electropop hits like Poker Face by Gaga or Gimme More by Britney
