Btw b.o.b completely ruins this song, dude has negative charisma (+he is a flat earther) He wasn't a lunatic yet back then, plus "Nothin' On You" is a geniunely fantastic song and such a monument of a bygone carefree era. I agree though that "Airplanes" isn't great, the chorus is pretty bad which is a shame because the production on this thing is just so good:

Has a very dreamy nighttime atmosphere to it. The visuals in the second chords in particular look outright psychedelic to me.

Anyways, I definitely agree it is more late 00s. Like 10slover said, Hayley from Paramore is featured in the song, and she was an icon in the late 00s.
This song has that very soft/emotional brand of Electropop that was big back in the late 00s. What it personally reminds me of more than anything is Kanye’s Heartbreak album from 2008.
And maybe I’m the only who feels like this, but BOB to me sounds like Mike Shinoda from Linkin Park/Fort Minor.

This seems like a song that could stay relevant in the early 10s but it could easily come out in the late 2000s so I'd go with that. It fits either period honestly.

Doesn't really represent either era but leans more early 10s because of BOB I'd say BOB was more late 00s or in-between since his peak was 2010. Don't remember too much of him post-2010, let alone pre-2010. 2010 was his only big year mainstream-wise.

I miss that era so much. Can't believe it's been a decade. Things started to go downhill afterwards.

Late 00s rap would be more like Dead and Gone, Live Your Life or like one of Soulja Boys hits.
