What do you think? Personally I think this is one of the more new-early 20s sounding songs that came out this year. Lil Nas X and Doja Cat are two artists that are bringing really fresh new styles to the table.

Hard to tell right now. Hip hop is in a weird phase in 2021. It sounds a little fresher than Montero but not too disconnected from the late 10s beside 2017. At the same time it doesn’t have that typical minimalistic production of late 10s trap tho. I’d put it on the cusp but only time will tell

I’d put it on the cusp but only time will tell this might sound weird, but aside from a few songs 2021 Hip Hop actually seems like it took a step backwards compared to 2020 Hip Hop. Most popular rap songs from 2020 actually somehow feel more fresh than 2021, which feels kinda like a step back to the 2010s. This might just be me, it'd be interesting to hear other people's opinion on this.
