80s: New Wave, synthpop, post-disco
90s: grunge, gangsta rap, eurodance, teenpop, ska, nu metal
00s: Pop-rock, post-grunge, dance-pop, electropop, garage rock, nu-disco, nu-funk
10s: EDM (dubstep, brostep, trap edm, house, trance, future bass and a bunch of other eletronic stuff) Trap, hipster/indie "rock"
20s: nu pop-rock

I know "charleston" isn't really the name of the genre but that's what i have always called it
Also, i forgot hair-metal for the 80s and glam metal for the 70s

I wonder if we'll get post-trap or if melodic-trap is the post-trap Melodic Trap actually does feel a bit like it's "Post-Trap" to me tbh Melodic trap is just an offshoot of bubblegum trap which started in 2017 by Lil Yachty.

That said, once the pandemic is over I think music is going to evolve quickly so in 2029, the picture may look very different.

Well, Lo-Fi is popular but it didn't have much chart success so its certainly not the most popular. A lot of bedroom pop and some trap today has significant lo-fi influences. True lo-fi though doesn't have lyrics and is unlikely to make it onto Top 40 radio.
