Which gen is your favourite. Mine is 5. It is tied with 4 for the most nostalgic and has the best campaigns imo. It smoothens out all the rough edges in the gen 4 games whilst still having the heart and soul that following generations are lacking. The music is memorable and great. The story is the best. The visual urban style looks really nice. The gameplay is really fast and smooth. Plenty of fun side and post game content like the pokemon world tournament. They captured lightning in a bottle with these games and they better not fuck up the remake like they're doing with gen 4.

Generation 1, when Pokemon was at it's peak and in the news 24/7 Myself and slashpop both fell out around the time Pokemon Silver came out, the fad was pretty much done

Gen 2. Gen 2 has the best atmosphere in Pokemon. Gen 7 is also amazing tho. I agree with gen 5, it was dunked on, but now people are starting to appreciate black/white era Pokemon more. The only downside I really dislike about gen 5 was how the Pokemon were animated in battle, not feeling it.

Gen 5 didn't get the love of the time. The "90s kids" were trashing any generation after Kanto(sometimes Johto). If anything, Gen 5 Unova was the most original gen the franchise had in a while, Black and White was one of the best games I've played from the franchise. Because of the new gen backlash, the Pokemon company appeals to the millennial fans by shoving first gen Pokemon into every game.

Genwunners were such whiny little shits and couldn't open their minds to anything past their childhood games, i'm glad gen 5 finally gets the respect it deserves. But unfortunately GF will probably shoehorn gen 1 pokes into the remakes just to appease to them.

I can't wait for the gen 5 remakes. Emboar is a refreshing take on the fire starter. I most likely won't be getting the D/P remakes or Legends Arceus since I'm content with Sword/Shield. I used to love gen 4, but grew to find the Pokemon forgettable.

Even though the original fad kind of died in 2000, I kind of have a thing for all the merch and pokemon stuff released in 1998 and 1999, even though it wasn't entirely targeted to my age group even then, not really into stuff after that, I just like the era, it feels most original and authentic.
