It's still a smartphone regardless of public opinion of it's tech. You can't re-classify what an object is once it has been set.
Traveling on a horse and strap back may be dated but it is still a means of transportation despite, cars, taxi, uber, planes. The definition of a smartphone is an abstract thing. What defines a smartphone is how advanced it is generally. There is no official quantative measure which seperates an old school phone from a smartphone. Back then a phone like that would be seen as very advanced but nowadays we think of phones like Iphone and Samsung Galaxy and other Androids when we think of smartphones. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smartphone#PDA/phone_hybrids

In terms of smartphone culture anything before the iPhone, while it technically may have been a smartphone, doesn't count in my opinion.
Also, the mobile Internet was simply awful pre-iPhone.

Iphone is the first smartphone as we know them today. Having a touchscreen rather than very clunky and inconvenient keyboards, a sleek display with a massive screen, fast processing speed and internet browsing and some other things. If one has to look up on the wikipedia whether a phone is a smartphone or not(i.e the BlackBerry Pearl) to tell if it even is one then the phone isn't a smartphone. The same principle cannot be applied for modern touchscreen smartphone brands like Iphone and Samsung Galaxy which are very obviously smartphones just by looking at them.

Not really a good topic to argue over.

In my honest opinion a smartphone is simply a phone that has wifi capabilities and is optimized for mobile internet uses.

The third > was paraphrasing your "ACKTHUALLY IT GOT POPULAR IN THE END OF 2004 NOT 2005" point not me saying late 2004 is way off from 2005. There's three possibilities here. You're either too dumb to understand the concept of the word "around" and think that if someone mentions a year and says around that year it must mean the exact year that was mentioned or you do know but you're playing dumb for the sake of argument or you're just flat out trolling so I won't bother continuing this pointless conversation. Have a nice day. You literally clearly just lied, and take no responsibility for lying, by saying John is wrong when she said it started in 2004. Lying like that is enough to make you a bad person and not worthy of engaging with since you have a serious mental health condition, and act like a bully because you can't accept you're wrong. You are a pathological liar and want attention. When did I ever rule out it starting in 2004? Go ahead. Quote me. Quote me saying this and I will delete my account on the spot. Please do it, i'm begging you. @sprinkles
