Summer 2015 - Nov 2016 is the shift from the mid 10s to late 10s but 2018 is the shift from the late 10s to very late 10s.
You had mumble rap blow up on the charts, avengers completely blowing up in popularity(it was popular before but became like popular popular that year with infinity war), battle royale arena games like Fortnite and PUGB exploding in popularity. But i'd say that's about it. I don't consider it a major shift like 2016 or 2020 because it was just a few noteworthy changes in pop culture(some of which were already in the public eye in previous years) and no special changes technologically or politically.

Vine and Musically culture, the peak of GTA 5, Tumblr culture, dank memes, vaporwave, deep/tropical house, soundcloud rap, teen dystopian movies, manbuns, athleisure.

I never said 2018 was a legitimate shift btw I just said a mini shift so like half a shift. A noticeable change in some areas of pop culture but not enough to make yesteryear seem alien in comparison.
