What was it like?
I recall going on the internet for the first time in or around late 2004 when I was 6 years old in first grade right when the mid 2000s truly took off and the 2000s cemented their identity. I felt like I traveled to a different world. It was surreal and amazing. The transition to Web 2.0 internet was just beginning with Myspace's rising popularity, but I got some glimpse of the Web 1.0 internet era. AOL and Yahoo were the spots back then. I mainly went on websites for Disney Channel, Cartoon Network, Nick.

1993, at was at friends house and her older sister had AOL and I remember browsing it very briefly, I didn't explore it and I didn't really understand it very well, I didn't even remember it being internet until later. Family got it in late 1994, we had had Windows 3.1 installed on a PC from 1991, with games installed like commander keen, wolfenstein 3d, and Kings Quest 5 and an old school printer. While it wasn't used as often as 1995-1996, every time you logged in, there was this extremely exciting feeling, surfing the web and the information highway were a new terms being thrown around.
I remember searching for older goosebumps books back then, after joining in the mail order fan club in 1994, where I wrote a letter asking about certain items or book series and I never heard back, but I remember searching goosebumps online in 1994 or 1995 then and getting all this information that was impossible prior.

2003 maybe? I remember hearing about Wikipedia in second grade and I was fascinated with it since I didn't know anything about the internet.
I do remember using the internet for the first time. I wanted to search the image of a buffalo, so I typed it in the url search bar and then was confused I didn't get any response... Then I just went back to playing with Microsoft Paint.

2005. My parents would let me use the computer to play games on Nick.com or CartoonNetwork.com. Sometimes my mom would let me go on video chat with her to talk to relatives, so I think that counts as well. I remember watching old school YouTube viral videos like “Chocolate Rain” and “Leave Britney Alone” in like 2007 or so, but I didn’t start using the internet on a consistent basis until about 2009 when I was 10
