Or can they also be exciting?
I’ve read on here how the 2000-2001 and 2003-2004, maybe the 2006-2007 school years are long in the tooth or stale pop culturally as the previous trends are past peak but the new trends have yet to get big. However the 2008-2009 school year is seen as exciting mainly because of electro-pop exploding and Obama's election.

Summer 2004 was very mixed with movies. It was caught in that weird early to mid 2000s transitional era from spring 2003. I hear that 2006 is one of the worst 2000s movie years. pretty much and 2006 movies were pretty a**

2016 was anything but long-in-the-tooth. Winter was still Peak Mid 2010s, then Spring and Summer had their own cool unique vibe and were the transition to the Fall which started off the Late 2010s.
2021 feels super long-in-the-tooth though, but I still notice that it's transitional.

Every year since 2018 has felt long in the tooth, there should have been some radical cultural change at least 2 years ago.
