I am talking about years that had too much going on all at once pop culturally, economically, politically.
2008 and maybe 2020 come to mind

2020(The obvious one): Covid-19, WW3 twitter scare, George Floyd protests along with Brianna Taylor and Amaud Arbery, Anti-Mask Karens all over the internet, Zoom culture, Brexit finally happens, people fighting over toilet paper, US presidential debates, election and “voter fraud” claims, WAP, Kobe Bryant death, Xbox One X & PS5 released, murder hornets, big celebrity deaths (Alex Trebek, RBG, Chadwick Boseman), Trump gets Covid, outdoor dining culture is now popular, Australian wildfires, Covid vaccine in December
2016: Pokémon Go Summer, Trap is starting to dominate, 2016 US election, Brexit, Stranger Things released, Sausage Party released, Some of the biggest artists of the 2010s released some of their most notable projects(Lemonade-Beyonce, Anti-Rihanna, Starboy-The Weeknd, Views-Drake), clown videos online, Harambe memes, mannequin challenge, lots of superhero movies, lots of BLM protests this year, apple releases AirPods, Chicago Cubs win World Series after 108 years
2013: Vine is released, Miley Cyrus Bangerz era controversy and twerking, Instagram and Snapchat blow up, Frozen is released, mid 10s artists (Ariana Grande, Migos, Zedd) and early 10s artists (Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Kesha) both have hits, Harlem Shake, PSY is still popular and starts to influence K-Pops popularity in the west, Beyoncé drops surprise album, iOS 7 released, PS4 & Xbox One released, Royals by Lorde breaks records, What Does The Fox Say?, Obama second term starts, Boston Marathon bombing, Trayvon Martin case trial
2009: Obama is sworn in as US president and the Obama hype is strong, Single Ladies dance craze, Lady Gaga is new and popular, Kanye vs Taylor at the VMAs, I Gotta Feeling by the Black Eyed Peas is the anthem of the year and starts that whole “carefree/party” vibe in music imo, Drake, Justin Bieber, Nicki Minaj, and Kesha debut this year, late 00s culture and early 10s culture collide
2004: MySpace takes off, another US presidential election, 00s staple movies like Mean Girls, Spider-Man 2, Shrek 2, SpongeBob Movie, White Chicks, Napoleon Dynamite all released, Motorola Razr released, GTA San Andreas released, Usher dominates music that year, Tsunami in India, Facebook released although not initially popular, Nintendo DS released
3 out of 5 of these are leap years and US presidential election years
