Do you think the popularity of the cottage core aesthetic could lead the 2020s to be suburban?
I’ve read on here how people say the 1990s and 2010s were urban, while maybe the 1980s and definitely the 2000s were suburban.

Gritty NYC and Flashy Miami seem to define them to me.

The 90s felt both urban and suburban at the same time imo. Late 90s felt more urban

Late 90s felt more urban Def, I would put it like this 1990,1991,1992,1993,1994,1995 - Suburban 1996,1997,1998,1999 - Urban In the late 90s more shows were about living in NYC such as Friends and even Boy Meets World changing their intro in 97 to a more city vibe lolA whole show in 1997 is called City Guys aha even Sabrina moved to Boston in her later seasons ( I know these later seasons started in 2000 but still)

I am not sure what brought on this glorification of City living to take over ( I am guessing Friends) but I know it started to die out after 9/11

In the 2010s, 2010-2012 give me suburban vibes and 2013-2019 give me urban vibes.

Conservative decades, as this is shaping up to be, typically do favor the suburbs.
