I’ve read somewhere online how 2002 felt early 2000s for adults and teenagers and 2003 felt mid or core 2000s to them, but kid culture was still early 2000s in 2003 and 2004 to an extent. I’ve seen arguments on Reddit and inthe00s about how the 2004-2005 season was culturally early 2000s because of how early 2000s kids shows and cartoons still aired or did reruns. Imo 2004-2005 season is undeniably mid 2000s. Even the kid culture of that time didn’t have an ounce that early 2000s charm that the 2003-2004 season had. 2004-2005 season is also a part of CN City era, not their Powerhouse era unlike the 2003-2004 season and back.
I mean to ask if kid culture accurately portrays the culture of a time or not.

Kid culture in the 2000s was behind until like 2006, In the early 2000s Disney channel and for that matter radio Disney would only play safe music/music videos. from 2003, nothing in this video is reflective of the Top 10 on Kiss FM radio at the time This is from April 2004 If you check the charts at the time for mainstream top radio almost none of this made the charts san Kelly Clarkson and Avril and Simple Plan and Duff. For christ sakes Disney radio put Baha Men's Who let the dogs out from 2000 in the top 10 the year 2004.

Wow no wonder people get a distorted perception that the Y2K era and or late 1990s lasted till 2003 or 2004 when that wasn’t the case. People also have a misunderstanding that teen pop was relevant in 2003 and 2004. Teen pop wasn’t cool anymore by late 2001. Teen pop music and cheesy songs like Baha Men’s “Who Let The Dogs Out?” was out of place by 2003. For Baha’s song to make into Radio Disney’s top 10 in 2004 is embarrassing and cringe tbh. This is proof to me how behind the times Disney and kid culture were in the mid 2000s and back. So I guess Radio Disney caught up in 2006 with the Hannah Montana era kicking off. Where you live country wide plays a part as well but yeah Disney was behind the times in this regard, when Teen Pop ended and things went more mature Disney was scared and just keeping going with the same formula even tho most of the United States had moved on. I have stated this before but JIVE records added Nelly to Nysnc's Girlfriend be cause they were worried people were not going to listen to a song that was teen pop even tho the song did not sound like Teen Pop lol and how do I know this ? Because I asked people at JIVE myself lol
