I think gangsta rap was popular in the mid 1990s, maybe early 1990s, not sure.
I know crunk, snap, trap was/is popular in the mid 2000s, mid/late 2000s and mid/late 2010s to present, respectively.

Gangsta rap is more of a thematic category than really a "genre". It was already pretty big in the late 80s, but exploded in popularity in the early 90s. By the mid-90s, the most predominant production styles of gangsta rap was boom bap on the East Coast and G-funk on the West Coast.
Crunk, snap and trap are all Southern hip hop styles. Crunk is party-oriented and features high-pitched bases and synth stabs. Snap is kind of an offshoot of that, just more repetitive and minimal.
Trap is kind of a huge category at this point with its many subgenres. It's mostly focused around 808s beats and triple hi-hats with very deep bases, but you could really take that idea into so many directions.

Weird how Gangsta Rap and Trap kinda mirror eachother.
