We have a few younger members here, so I thought it would be an interesting question to ask. As for myself, my Mum and I still had dial-up until October 2010, when we got rid of our Desktop PC.

My family and I used dial-up until 2006 when we upgraded to broadband. It was a bloody nightmare using the internet with dial-up, everytime the phone rings the internet will cut off!

Used dial-up right up until the family moved house in late 2005. Upgraded to broadband in new house in January 2006. After finally getting it I wondered how I ever lived with shitty dial-up for so long! Imagine trying to upload stuff to YouTube (even a 5 second video would take an eternity with it! ). I actually wish I would've used dial-up, to hear those cool sounds and maake fun of the speed. Whaa?! No you don’t. Take that back right now!

We had dial-up until around 2006/7. It was very annoying, especially when my mum would be on 2 hour long phone calls! . I really don't understand how we put up with it back then

No, I've never used dial-up before. I'm guessing you got rid of it before you can remember?

I've never used Dial Up, I didn't even find out what it was until I saw it mentioned online when I was around 13 or 14.

I grew up with that dial-up sound! We upgraded to broadband in 2003, and I instantly got hooked on watching music videos on Yahoo! Music, watching naughty funny videos on Funnyjunk (:shame:) and playing flash games on cartoonnetwork.com.

That's really interesting to hear, since a lot of people our age grew up with it when we were younger! Maybe your family did have it, but you weren't aware of it? I grew up with that dial-up sound! We upgraded to broadband in 2003, and I instantly got hooked on watching music videos on Yahoo! Music, watching naughty funny videos on Funnyjunk (:shame:) and playing flash games on cartoonnetwork.com. Haha, yeah, there was such a big difference in terms of the internet speeds between dial-up and broadband.
