her team must be paying someone at Billboard or something because I literally never hear about her anymore but next thing you know, #1 on the Hot 100. It's strange. It's because of streaming, Spotify and TikTok have completely broken the Billboard hot100 What I'm saying is that it's weird because normally the Billboard Hot 100 features songs and artists that are actually relevant today and are talked about. But as soon as Taylor drops something it randomly rises to the top without anyone even mentioning her.

The reason why Taylor Swift is re-recording her old stuff is that her manager Scooter Braun kept the masters away from Taylor, meaning she doesn’t actually own her songs. She re-records them to lower the worth of her original songs so she could buy and own them for herself.

You wouldn't see a Christina Aguilera song from 2002 or 2003 charting in 2011.

Honestly, I think it’s because of Covid and the political atmosphere. People aren’t in such mood for new and fresh music. They listen to older music and new music replicating older styles to cope because they want to be reminded of the good ole days. I hope things will start picking up in 2022 if the new variant won’t be a serious threat to the world.
