After 2014 to 2020 being full on minimalist for 6 years, 2021 finally brought back skeuomorphism, in a way... Windows 11 and Android 12 are like a mix between the two, and honestly look better/cleaner than full on skeuo IMO.
I feel like Apple is falling behind on the times, since iOS 15 is still full on minimalist design, they're also still releasing phones with full on 2018-style notches 😂. It's kind of ironic because during the 2010s they were normally the first to try new things and the rest followed them, now it's the opposite.

Yeah apple is stagnant, but unfortunately they are still the standard. That’s the reason why I think foldable phones haven’t taken off yet. Until Apple decides to make a foldable phone, they won’t be common. Same with the neo-skeuomorphism or skeuo-minimalism as you put it

Samsung phones alone outnumber iPhones nowadays, atleast from what I've seen. Foldable phones aren't common because they're super expensive and only rich to upper middle class people have them. Either way, I'd say with 2/3 major operating systems using neomorphism (I'm gonna call it that now) it's already the "norm" and Apple needs to catch up.

Yes I've noticed it and it's a nice change. I still don't see it everwhere though, still a lot of the flat design lingering on. But as we move through the decade I'm sure that'll change and we'll see more of the new design.
