How would you define gaming eras of the 21st century?

Like how we define decades in a cultural sense rather than literally/chronologically.
I'd say it goes like this:
2000 - 2002: 5th gen to 6th gen transition
2002 - 2005: Peak 6th gen
2006 - 2007: 6th gen to 7th gen transition.
2008 - 2012: Peak 7th gen brown and bloom FPS era
2013 - 2014: 7th gen to 8th gen transition
2015 - 2017: 8th gen Open World/Cinematic era
2018 - 2020: 8th gen Battle Royale era
2021 - 202X(probably 2023): 8th gen to 9th gen transition
