I know this post is late as that survey was taken almost 4 months ago. I found the article interesting because I recall John Titor and Slashpop saying how summer 2001 sucked. Here's the Article:This poll confused us, because most people think this summer SUCKED . . . but we also want more of it? A new survey of 1,500 Americans found 80% of us had a, quote, “bummer summer.” But 48% also wish there was a way to extend it for another two weeks. (There’s actually almost a month of summer left, by the way.) Here are a few more random stats from the survey. . . 1. 27% said they’d rather have a root canal than relive this past summer. ( ) 37% would rather move in with their parents. And 9% would rather feel seasick for three months straight. 2. The states where people were most likely to say they had a terrible summer are: South Carolina, Kentucky, Indiana, Missouri, and Oklahoma. 3. And here’s the weirdest question they asked: What did the summer of 2021 TASTE like? 21% said “fruity” . . . 18% said it tasted like “boredom” . . . 15% said “bitter” . . . 11% said “salty” . . . another 11% said “spicy” . . . 10% said “boozy.” Here's the Link:hot969boston.com/2021/08/25/80-of-americans-say-the-summer-of-2021-sucked/IMO:Summer 2021 wasn't as bad as summer 2020, but that's when I lost hope of COVID getting better.

It wasn't that bad. For me though, it was ok. There were days that were so boring, and other days were better.

I liked summer of 2020 better personally. The tiktok trends were fun especially and I had fun with friends. Summer 2021 was a disappointment. I went to New York City but other than that it was a boring summer, especially because I got my first job in late June

Well, at least international voyages were way less convoluted and restricted than in 2020 so it was a major improvement at least over last year's.
I could go to Cyprus this year. Very pretty of a country.

I feel like mid 2021 (spring to early fall) vaguely started feeling a tiny bit different from earlier in general, but nothing particularly distinct about the summer other than feeling less worrisome compared to the summer prior.

I agree with Slashpop that around the spring time, it did felt very tiny bit different from 2020. But other than that it doesn’t feel exactly different from 2020 (and 2019 to some extent).

Only if you live under a rock.... Summer 2019 was veeery different from summer 2020 and summer 2021 And the reason why is so obvious

COVID affected pop culture way too much for us to pretend it didn't. 2020 was basically on pop culture lockdown, and 2021 was basically just the start to fixing that.

Personally, it was great for me. I visited Miami and NYC. I needed a trip after a miserable year like 2020.

I’d have to respectfully disagree. Q4 2018 and 2019 was responsible for the vibe of 2020 and 2021 pop culturally. There’s no way I can say that pop culture in 2020 and 2021 are world’s apart from Q4 2018 and 2019. Sure there may have been modifications from Q2 through Q4 2020 and 2021, but not enough to fully divorce us from Q4 2018 and 2019.

People over exaggerate the differences between 2019 and the early 2020’s
