If you take a look at it, there were obvious changes especially once you get closer to later in the decade but overall I would say this video really shows how consistent the 2010s were in terms of music. Nothing sounds night and day. But for the 2000s it was an entirely different story since the sound of 2000 and 2009 sounds worlds apart. What do you guys think?

Yeah, because people definitely listened to club ready electropop in 2019 and TikTok trap songs in 2010.

Nah early 10s club music sounds completely different than the trap rap of the late 10s.

That video proves the opposite but ok.
Make someone from 2000 listen to Lady Gaga and Flo Rida and they won't be too suprised since it's basically updated Madonna and Sisqo music. But make someone from 2010 listen to Billie Eillish and Lil Nas X, and they will for sure be bewildered at how different it sounds from Kesha and B.o.B.

You people love missing the point
What OP meant is that, compared to 2000s/past decades music, 2010s music was pretty consistent

2010s’ changes pale in comparison to that of the 2000s. People love over exaggerating the difference between 2010 and 2019. 2010 and 2019 are different, but they share some or few similarities, whereas 2000 and 2009 have nothing in common.

OP makes very hyperbolic claims like "it was a very consistent time for music", "nothing is night and day" clearly stating that basically nothing changed between 2010 and 2019 regardless of the 2000s comparison. Do you personally agree with this?

The "nothing is night and day" part is hyperbolic and wrong but you can't just say that OP meant "basically nothing changed between 2010 and 2019" when they clearly that there were some obvious changes

Lmao people who say the 2010’s were musically consistent either never payed any attention to 2010’s culture while it was happening, or are so biased towards the 90’s/2000’s that they don’t even bother looking at the changes that happened in the 2010’s.

I wouldn't say the electro pop genre is night and day compared to late 2010s EDM. It's different for sure but nothing revolutionary. And as for trap, that genre was actually created in the 2000s. It only got popular in the 2010s once rap was getting big again in the mid 2010s.

I think that's what he meant. The big three genres of the 2010s (Electropop/EDM/Trap) are all heavily based on beat drops, mid 2010s pop music too. So I see the similarities there.
