What years did the light switch flip the moment the second half reached? By light switch flipping, I mean things becoming mostly or fully opposite in the second half of the year versus how they were when the year started. I'm talking about years that had a stark contrast going from January to July.
2001, 2004, maybe 2007 and definitely 2009 jump at me.

2020. The first few months were still the old world, at least in the USA.

Big 1981 (modified late 70s era to proper 80s decade identity being solidified at a basic level) 1988 (stereotypical and cookie cutter 80s cheesiness is still dominant to newer late 80s and proto 90s elements visibly sticking out ) 1989 (modified late 80s period to a nearly a proper start of a new decade, the 90s) 1992 (never ending extension of the very early 90s to an early shift towards a lot of newer mid/core 90s culture that sets the standard for next 4 or 5 years, some of which feels totally opposite to earlier culture in 1988-1991/92) 1998 (a barely modified version of late 1997 (early 1998 feels semi pre-digital and is still core 90s) to feeling like partially in a new decade/2000s) 2004 (moving from when early 2000s culture still overpowers/is on par with mid, to entering the proper/core/mid 2000s felt like a different world) 2009 (a typical late 2000s period, with more in common with late 2007, to feeling like we are almost fully in the 2010s decade, 2011 finishes the job) 2013 (a hybrid early to mid culture, to the official middle 2010s) Medium 1978 1983 1986 1991 1994 1997 2001 2008 2011 2016 2018 Small 1979 1984 1987 1990 1993 1995 1996 1999 2000 2003 2006 2007 2012 2015 2021 (barely makes it tbh) Tiny 1980 1982 2002 2005 2010 2014 2017 2019 2020

2001, 2008 and 2020 are the only huge ones I can think of.
1998, 2004, 2006, 2009, 2011, 2013, 2016 and 2019 are some more minor ones though IMO.
