Personal life feels a lot more distant than pop culture

The title character limit sucks.
What I mean is when recalling a year the pop culture of it feels much closer than the personal life aspect of it for me. This especially applies to the late 10s. When I see a music video from the late 10s I think "wow, it feels like yesterday" but then my personal life was in a completely different world, even without factoring COVID in. The difference with the mid 10s isn't as big and in the early 10s and back both pop culture and my personal life feel distant. DAE feel this way or in reverse(as in personal life of a previous year feeling like yesterday but pop culture feeling distant)?
