2022 sounds interesting, futuristic, cooler and better than 2021. Hopefully 2022 delivers on that and establishes more of the 2020s identity. I think more 2010s influences will die throughout 2022.
Three of the digits in 2022 are the same like 2000. 2000 and 2022 both start on a Saturday, except 2000 was a leap year.

Summer 2009 the recession ended and yet the economy didn't bounce back until 2014 The context of a pandemic ending is way bigger than the context of a recession ending which is why things are not going to bounce back as fast as the 2000s recession

IMO: 2019 was the end of Core 2010s culture and brought in the start of Early 2020s trends, it was like a preview of what 2020 could've been. 2019 had 2020 vision, but hindsight really is 2020. 2020 brought COVID which overshadowed any pop culture because of lockdowns, so pop culture was basically on lockdown too. 2021 saw some restrictions lift and brought some changes to pop culture, but it was mainly a filler year (the real "0" year for 2020s pop culture). 2022 will probably be where the transition finally ends and 2020s identity will be clear (the real "1" year for 2020s pop culture). 2023 will probably be when COVID is no longer considered a pandemic and will be the start of the Core 2020s.
