It was mostly used before the zeitgeist of the coronarmageddon began around march the 20th so it feels slightly nostalgic. People started using COVID more afterwards and somewhere around the middle of that year virtually everyone had stopped referring to the virus as "Coronavirus" and just said "COVID" instead.

Nostalgic? Some of us are still going through hell on earth because of this pandemic.

I remember everyone was joking about it in early 2020 before it became a pandemic (around late January and early February 2020). They were saying the media is just fear-mongering and it wasn't serious. I distinctly remember one guy at the Tim Hortons dining area in my school was making jokes saying his friend had Corona and to stay away from him lol. It was a more innocent time for sure.
I'm definitely nostalgic for that time period since it was the last time things were normal before the pandemic. Plus it was just an all-around fun time and the music was solid as well. I remember Post Malone's song "Circles" was blasting on the radio all the time. People call that era the "false early 2020s".

I like to call it the "2020 Vision era" because we had the vision but no hindsight lol.

One thing about Covid is the worst-case predictions have ALWAYS turned out to be the correct ones.

Yeah but even just the start of early 2020 felt different because we were in a new decade and 2020 sounded cool. It felt very fresh. No one knew what was gonna hit them in a few months.

Remember that cardi b coronavirus remix meme song that went viral in early 2020? Feels very distant now, we had no idea how bad it was gonna get...
