This could be about companies, businesses, celebrities, singers, actors, models, musicians, rappers, artists, pop culture, economy, government, politics, whatever.
One example that I can come up with is Macy’s. They brought out so many department stores in the 1990s and 2000s, changing those stores to Macy’s. I think ever since 2016 that’s come to bite them in the ass as they’ve been closing stores consistently since.
Do you believe in karma?
I do. I believe that what goes around, comes around.

One example I can think of, which I've probably written enough about on here, is Abercrombie. Their former CEO had so much to say about who he wanted for customers, which seemed to be in line with the type of bullying and overall air of the time. Then after that whole culture died in the 2000's, the brand did not update quickly enough with it. After lamenting what wasn't cool, he was now not cool. (Though the brand has now been cleaned up with new people heading it.) Victoria's Secret has a similar story.
Essentially I believe this happens when companies, people, etc. lack balance. They don't keep up with the times. They bite the hand that feeds them. They go too far in one direction. Sometimes things become "too much" suddenly, even if they may have been quite popular, because they were running on full steam. Thinking you are so high on top that you don't need to fairly evaluate is asking for trouble. Basically getting cocky. It's not that I don't at least somewhat believe in karma, but regarding a lot of big calculated decisions, I think a lot of it comes down to overestimation.
