Now that 2022 is nearing upon us, what are your opinions on things that happened this year?
Personally, I think the year was alright. Not bad like 2020, but not great either.
We started this year with COVID spreading like crazy to end it off with COVID spreading like crazy lol.
But the things that I liked from this year were finally getting my PS5, listening to quality albums from artists like Tyler, The Creator, Little Simz, etc., enjoying some pop music from Olivia Rodrigo, Lil Nas X, and Doja Cat, watching Squid Game, losing weight, and actually getting along with my stepmom (finally).
And of course, the things I loathed/disliked were the Afghanistan withdrawal disaster, COVID still being a huge thing, the Astroworld tragedy, etc.

Best year since 2013 for me. I've become a lot more independant and mature and got the opportunity to re-unite with some siblings. It was a really chill year which is refreshing after the hectic train ride that was 2020. My depression went POOF at the start of the year which has been on/off since 2014.
As for pop culture, music is somewhat decent now and 2010s leftovers in music are mostly gone. The PS5 is awesome and it already feels like a huge upgrade from the PS4 with it's fast loading times, dualsense/haptic feedback and superior specs. Graphics still look like 8th gen but that's to be expected since it's only getting ports atm. O

Second worst year of my life. 2020 was the worst.
2021 actually started out very promising, but with half the country refusing the vaccine, the attempt to get back to normal in spring/early summer didn't pan out and how it looks like hell on earth for the foreseeable future. I'm not expecting 2022 to be much better. I have little hope for anything this side of 2025 to be honest, and 2025 is currently a big wildcard.
The 2020s, at least in the USA, are and will continue to be dominated by fundamentalist religion and bigotry and a strong movement to turn the country into a caliphate of the Southern Baptist Church. Patriarchy and "traditional values" are popular right now.
Wish I could find love but that's too much to ask in these hell times. Heck, finding a friend is. 2020 took all my friends from me.

Improved version of 2020 in almost every way although unfortunately still similar.
Better politics - first full year trump is out of office even if lots are residue is there. Better games - PS5 having a enough games and taking off Better social atmosphere - Drastic reduction of lockdowns and masks and ability to go out much more than 2020 Safer - First year vaccines are rolled out Better Fashion - Flashy 95-02 elements and vibes popping out in fashion way more than 18-20. Music feels slightly more distinct - You can sense a bit more of an aesthetic change in music videos and music hits Cinemas are open and better movies - Movies are back and better I can’t think of any 2020 movies that stick out
2022 will iron out all the bumps of 2021 and offer more new era defining culture

I did think that this year was an improvement over last year. Last year felt like pure hell. We couldn't do anything and had to be stuck at home throughout most of the year and couldn't do anything outside of our comfort zones. The biggest change of the year were that people were getting now getting the chance to get vaccinated and that outdoor activities were starting to reopen again which includes having large group gatherings. There seemed to be more social activity this year than last year. I do think the the latter half of the year was better than the earlier half of the year meaning Jan-Jun was worse than July-December but then again this is just my personal experience from this year. As for as personal life goes it was half and half meaning half good half bad. It was an okay year for the most part. I did have the chance to see my family again in Vegas since I couldn't last year because I was stuck in California for college. Luckily one of my good friends had an extra bedroom in his house so that I could live with him until I had the chance to get myself a new place in an apartment or condo of some sort (still figuring that out). There were some hard times for me especially earlier in the year since we were still in the side effects of what was going on in 2020 but it soon got better once the year progressed later which made me like the second half of the year more than the first half.

Now there is a sequel coming out next year and once again there is a lot of hype especially since Tails and Knuckles are gonna be a part of it.
