Not mid '20s yet but core '20s for sure. You'll see a bunch of changes this year both in pop culture and the world.

I disagree. We barely entered the early 2020s pop culturally speaking. Not all 2010s influences are killed off yet. 2022 is still too early for the core 2020s to begin. 2023 will likely still be a cultural early 2020s year, but the first core 2020s year. 2024 will likely be the first mid 2020s cultural year and when all 2010s influences are 100% dead.

Lets focus on actual 2020s feeling properly early 2020s all the way through beyond the numerical years alone, Covid and a small batch of changes. 2010s culture, however faded or numerically removed we are from the decade, is still sort of overpowering everything even with a few more stand out changes in late 2020-late 2021, 2022 might change that at some point and feel different its likely to be towards the end or second half, but you never know it might not even happen.

A lot of people on this board want to ignore how Covid has completely destroyed every non-online aspect of society. Life in 2019 was like a dream far too good to be true compared to 2022, even if Billie Eilish is popular in both years.

2023 will mark the beginning of the mid 2020s whereas 2022 will mark the beginning of the core 2020s.

I don’t think it will be core 20s but maybe some core elements might start popping up this year. Kinda like 2012 when Instagram, flat design, and other core 10s elements became popular. But we just gotta wait and see

But we just gotta wait and see well the 2020s skeuo-minimalism design was already established in 2021 with Windows 11, the new MacOS, and Android 12. Maybe iOS will finally get with the times this year and solidify it.

January 2021 was the real start and 2022 will prolly be the peak year. So much happened between March 2020 and January 2021, but after January 2021 it's been mostly chill.

When people look back at this era in the future, obviously it will be universally agreed upon that it started when Covid started. We are not even out of the Covid era and this started in 2020... How could Covid be transitional if we are still in the Covid era as of January 2022? It makes no logical sense. The early 2020s began in March of 2020. You could say the transition happened before that when Coronavirus was a concern but it didn't change the world and become a global pandemic yet. You already saw signs of early '20s culture when Dua Lipa and The Weeknd released their retro pop albums as in late 2019 and Juice Wrld's melodic trap sound was starting to top the charts.

I agree with you now that I think of it. Let's hope this goes away in 2023 so it can be looked at as *just* a early 2020s thing.
