Early 20s because of the lack of trap or distorted 808s

Early twenties.
This song is important in terms of the increasing cultural tension between the fundamentalist Christians and the rest of our society that unless something changes, will result in a civil war this decade.
Half of Americans see that song as indicative of America's debauchery and apostasy.

Also fundamentalist Christians are not the only fundamentalists in our society, what about fundamentalist Muslims or Jews or any other religion? Atheists can be fundamentalist too.

Early 2020s. The trap instrumentation sounds a lot more melodic than the depressing Soundcloud rap sound of the late 2010s.

It's controversial for being explicitly "Satanic," which is a sign of the end times and God's impending judgment. Fundamentalist Christianity and their anger over a changing society is the driver of the 2020s zeitgeist.

I'm a Christian myself and just... No lmfao. I actually kinda like the song it's hella catchy.

You must live under a rock if you didn't see the absolute meltdown the Christian crowd had over this song and it's music video, specially the foxnews crowd

Most other people just laughed at the outrage and everyone moved on. I don’t think Fox News and the Christian Right have that much of an impact on our pop culture right now as much as others think tbh
