We all know why this decade is bad, so I won't even mention the c word. But this decade is still better than the 2010s. The music is WAY better, 2000s nostalgia is finally a mainstream thing, people value real-life interactions instead of taking it for granted in the 2010s while being consumed with phones and social media. It's one of those things you don't think you'll miss or value until it gets taken away from you. There's a lot to like about this decade. The 2010s were just too fake and unrelatable to me.

Agreed. 2010s is the most artificial, soulless, trashy decade ever and i hate having to have spent most of my formative years in it. I will never be nostalgic for the pop culture of the decade besides gaming maybe.

I like the music and fashion of the 2020s compared to the 2010s. 2010s deserve backlash and hate. I still have hope that the 2020s will kick the 2010s ass pop culturally and technology-wise.

What's to like about this decade other than people suffering? What exists anymore other than misery?
Yeah, this decade is great if you like living in a dystopian horror movie. If you love being a prisoner at home but no release date. "Just wait 5-10 years and maybe it will be better." If you love a crashed economy with no hope of recovery in the foreseeable future. Culture dominated by conservatism and fundamentalist religion.
Every single waking moment if this decade is pure torture. This is hell.
I regret my complaining about the 2010s. They were a dream compared to this nightmare.
At least in the 2010s there were things to do and I could leave my home. I could have friends. I could date. There was a chance I could find love. I had a future. I had hope. Now that's all gone.

In the next few years : - Corona might be reduced: - Tech will get better - Culture will get more original and possibly more interesting

There wasn't any pandemic in the 2010s, that automatically makes it the better decade
This is just another anti-10s circlejerking post. The same sh1t people said about the 2000s up until 2014 or 2015
I mean, even if the pandemic subdues... There was still a pandemic at one point, millions of families lost family members, the economy crashed (that didn't happen at all in the 10s) politics got even crazier than they were in 2019 and 2016.
I mean, you people can hate the 10s all you want but the truth is that the 2020s are forever going to be known for a negative global event, much like the 1930s and 1940s

"2010s culture wasn't original" literally the same thing people used to say about the 2000s lol.

Yes the economy crashed but the economy of the 10s inherited the aftermath of the great recession and didn't properly recover until about 2015. In other words the economy was dogshit too.

I mean, you people can hate the 10s all you want but the truth is that the 2020s are forever going to be known for a negative global event, much like the 1930s and 1940s The depression will probably last all decade. And a civil war or successful coup is likely in the USA this decade. I don't think most people grasp what life in this country could be like in 2029. The sh*t has hit the fan. This is the big collapse that preppers and doomers have been warning about for decades. Half the country wants to overthrow the government and impose a religious state. Trump crashed the country and people want him back in power just because they want a return to "traditional values." I would say one thing that could change the game is if Donald Trump passes before 2024. Nobody else can fill his shoes and I think with him gone, politics will cool down a bit. If that happens and we get another four years under Biden or some other Democrat, I will start to get a little more optimistic about where things will go in the 2030s.

This is far worse than 2008-2014 for the economy. I think history will forget that recession like it did the 1920-21 recession. The 2020s is the big one.

People forget how bad the 2010s were because of the pandemic, understandably so. But it's not as if the 2010s was some great decade and then we hit a low with the pandemic. In the 2010s, society were on a steady continual decline. You knew something was bound to happen. The pandemic happened when society was already in a decaying state.

It's remarkable how similar the 2010s were to the 1920s (the Jazz age). What was clear is that any historical catastrophe that happened on Donald Trump's watch was certainty going to be many times worse than it otherwise would have been. For that reason, the late '10s felt like a ticking time bomb. If it wouldn't have been a pandemic, it would have been a nuclear war or something else.

I guess EDM would be the equivalent to jazz...

Early 2020’s pop music so far is better than late 2010’s pop music by a huge mile IMO.
