I find people overhyping movies, games, TV shows, certain foods and drinks, years or whatever funny because most of the time, they end up sucking and or disappointing.
“2018 will be the transition into early 2020s culture similar to 2008 being the transition into early 2010s culture. By 2019, we’ll be in early 2020s culture.”
That never happened for the record. All of 2018 was late 2010s. Q2-Q3 2018 took us out of the core 2010s. By Q4 2018, the core 2010s were over.
“2015 will be how 1985’s “Back to the Future” depicted the year to be. 2015 will be like the 1995 and 2005 of the 2010s.”
This also never happened. 2015 ended up as one of the worst and most boring 2010s years. 2015 was a watered down mid 2013 through 2014.
“2022 will begin the core 2020s. 2023 will begin the mid 2020s.”
This won’t happen. Right now still feels like 2021. If 2021 is nowhere near close to being core 2020s, then neither is 2022. 2023 is the earliest I see the core 2020s beginning. 2024 is the earliest I see the mid 2020s beginning.
This is why I stopped having high expectations or any expectations at all. I live in the moment and let life happen.
