I was thinking about this earlier, because i'm listening to music at the moment and I noticed a bit of a change in the songs i'm listening to. It has made me curious. Does someone's mood influence the perception of sound? I know it sounds unrealistic, but i've noticed a change in my own perception of sound on a number of occasions. Whenever I listen to a song through my headphones when i'm feeling fatigued or depressed, the song I am listening to sounds slower-paced and lower-pitched, even though the duration of the track itself hasn't changed. Yet, when i'm in a much more positive mood, the duration of the song seems shorter and the song itself sounds "higher pitched". Has anyone else experienced this as well?

That's interesting. I personally don't remember this being the case with me. Just yesterday I was listening to a song when I was tired, but it still sounded pretty normal.

That's really weird. I thought it would have been a common thing for people to experience! It even happened to me again a few days ago.

I was just listening to "The Way You Move" by Outkast and the song sounded a bit faster than last time I listened to it. I'm not really sure how I feel right now, to be honest.

Yeah, it's a really strange experience! The actual duration of the song doesn't change, but the song itself sounds so much faster.
