What are periods that seem stagnant and slow culturally?
1962: British Invasion and surf rock not taken place yet and doo wop was still the most popular genre.
1980-81: Synthpop hasn’t taken over yet. Still has a watered down 70s vibe.
1990: Some new things but glam metal was still being played
2000-01: Teen pop played at a nauseam and people getting sick and tired of it. Early 2000s culture still not fully formed. Iconic 2000s movie franchise appeared in the second half of 2001
2017-18: EDM was kinda popular but very watered down. Majority of things were downbeat at the time.
2021-22: Not a lot of changes compared to mid 2020 to early 2021. Pop culture is at a freeze at this point.
