Until then? It was still the Hanna-Barbera dominated world that was mostly an extension of the 70s. You still had lots of Scooby-Doo, many cartoons still had that 70s look, and there were even some Happy Days cartoon spin-offs in the early 80s. 1983 is when you really saw the shift. He-Man pretty much started the stereotypical 80s cartoon: toy-based, PSA at the end, cheap animation. DiC got their start this year with Inspector Gadget and The Littles. You also had GI Joe and the Alvin and the Chipmunks come out this year. After this, we were really in the 80s era of cartoons up until about 1990-1991, when The Disney Afternoon, Simpsons, Fox Kids, and Nicktoons all came out. But what do you think?
