So around early 2007 since Pop Punk was starting to get long in the tooth a new sub genre formed, called Neon Pop Punk, extreme emphasis on synthesizers and faster tempos. Ironically Scene fashion blew up at the exact same time this music arrived. This was the final swan song for Pop Punk in the 2000s.
Below are a few examples of this mini era

Even though this wasn't/isn't my scene, era or style at all, I much rather have this replace the travisbarkercore "pop punk" I'm seeing out there right now. Ideally I would want mid to late 90s pop punk back, and more genuine y2k/early 2000s punk back but if that can't happen I think they need to get influenced by at least some of instrumental aspects, rather than the vocals imo, of stuff like this a bit more

Also, god a lot of that fashion has aged terribly honestly. Scene fashion looked so ridiculous.

What you told me earlier is fine.

Modern "pop punk" right now needs to be improved somehow, it simply isn't going to work, it doesn't have to perfect but it needs a more genuine rock aspect in some way, I'm not asking for much. It's too artificial. I hope it evolves to have better influences, I could imagine metalcore, more authentic pop punk and even nu-metal influences would work to it's benefit at some point if they catch up and merge with the genre as it stands right now.

Really, this was the last noteworthy rock movement IN GENERAL before the genre lost relevance, and it largely became largely dominated by legacy acts and throwback artists.
