No I don't think it will be a split decade. I think the events of 2020 set the tone for the vibe of the entire decade. It's pretty dystopian. What if COVID becomes an endemic by 2025? It will

Just a very hopeless kind of vibe. Billie Eilish and that sad vibe really defines the fake early 2020s (which is indeed different than the late 2010s). The real early '20s are upbeat as hell. That started around winter of 2020. I don't think the upbeat vibe was triggered by COVID as a means to escape like people claim. In order to make this argument, you would have to believe that COVID was planned beforehand. Because The Weeknd and Dua Lipa released their albums in late winter 2019, and Doja Cat came out in February 2020.
