Pop punk will become authentically mainstream then. We are still rooted deep in the retro pop era but punk is most certainly rising.

I think this rock revival will only last until 2023 max Nah it's only just begun. 2020-2021 was the first few sparks of it being noticed in the mainstream with "good 4 u" charting in the top 10. I think this year we will see it commonly chart high as it genuinely becomes mainstream and in the mid 20s it will be the most dominant genre.

It either only begun or it was just a small passing phase. I'm not looking forward to it. I want something new and unique for this decade that is also good.

Rock has been dead since the late 2000s and people want it back. Old zoomers (who are dominating the music industry) are nostalgic for rock music from their childhoods and want to bring it back like other 2000s stuff. I mean it isn't original but it's better than the same EDM autotune processed crap that has been forced down our throats for the entirety of the 10s at least. It feels refreshing after having been dead for over a decade.
