Which era would you say certain companies were at their most popular or well-regarded? These are my answers:
Microsoft - Mid 2000s (Windows XP SP2, Xbox/Xbox 360, Halo 2) Apple - Late 2000s (iPhone, iPods were still popular, Steve Jobs was still alive, MacBooks, Windows Vista helped them LMAO) Sony - Early 2000s (PlayStation 2, Spider-Man, DVDs (which they co-developed) overtake VHS, CDs are still popular) Sega - Early 1990s (Sonic and the Genesis, do I need to explain?) Nintendo - Late 1980s (NES, Game Boy), Late 2000s (Wii, Nintendo DS), Late 2010s (Switch) Rockstar Games - Mid 2000s (Grand Theft Auto San Andreas, Midnight Club 3, Bully) Valve - Late 2000s (Orange Box, Half-Life 2 Episode 2, Portal, Team Fortress 2, Left 4 Dead)
Your opinions, and other examples you’d like to add?

Microsoft - 2005 ( Xbox started becoming super mainstream and shown in music videos once Halo 2 came out, such as Ashlee Simpson's videos) Sony - Early 2003 ( PS2, Sony Vaio computers, Sony Tv's, DVD not much else needs to be said) Sega - Early 1994 ( when Donkey Kong Country came out that was pretty much it for Sega's dominance and the market share turned fast) Nintendo - TBA Rockstar Games - 2005 ( GTA San Andreas, Bully hype) Blockbuster video - Late 2004 ( graph data shows late 2004 has the highest rate of stores being built + foot traffic in the company's history) Sam Goody - Mid 2002 ( CD's and illegal downloading still go hand and hand) Suncoast Video - Summer 2001

I can agree with 2005 for Microsoft and Rockstar. Though for the former, you could certainly make a case for 2004 with the Halo 2 hype + the release of Windows XP SP2 (which went really well). Microsoft in general was very well-liked around 2003-2005, especially as people forgot about the whole anti-trust scandal, but before they shot themselves with the Zune and Windows Vista. Microsoft has never been outright LOVED, but that span of time is about as close as you're gonna get. Also 1995-1997 was a good era for them, with Windows 95 having been released, before the anti-trust lawsuit, before Windows ME, and this was also Apple's WORST era. Kinect aside, you could also make a case for 2009-2011 being a good era, since this was when Windows 7 came out and was new, + the peak years of the Xbox 360. Basically, the mid 90s and electropop era were good eras for Microsoft too. On the flip-side, 1998-2001 (Windows ME, anti-trust lawsuit), 2006-2008 (Windows Vista, Zune), and 2012-2014 (Windows 8, Xbox One launch) were pretty rough.

Very much true, infact Xbox outsold PS2 for a few months in either 2003 or 2004, thats right Xbox outsold PS2 for a brief moment in time lol

You also had Windows XP SP2 in 2004, a major update that made the OS far more stable, and it solidified its place as Microsoft’s best operating system.
