I literally just saw an ad on TV for some preachy TV special about healthcare racism. I literally can’t escape this shit. I miss not having to hear about how shitty the world is every 5 minutes and everything having this preachy serious tone. I just wish we could go back to the pure silliness of the late 90s, mid 00s, and early 10s. The mid 00s might’ve been politically charged but instead of everything being all serious and drama-filled, instead everything had this over-the-top edgy satirical tone to it, like Borat, Team America, and South Park. I honest wouldn’t mind living in a politicized era so long as it’s one that doesn’t take itself seriously like the mid 00s, rather than the overly serious preachy cancel culture society of the modern day. That, and corporations didn’t try to preach social causes either back then.

Sorry but the world is a shit place and people have to learn that so they understand the insane times we are living in, when conservatives are banning whatever things they don't like, (abortion, race theory, lgbt+ books and suicide lines for lgbt people) and billionaires are buying up everything while paying 0 taxes every year. I think the only downside is like what happened to Disney. They're really preachy about being gay-friendly but wete caught red-handed donating to anti-gay politicians, i believe something similar happened to pepsi but it was completely buried by the news rotation.

I agree the world is a shit place but just pointing out how shitty the world is isn’t going to suddenly fix the world. People go to pop culture so they can escape the shittiness of their lives, like if they get bullied, they go home and sit down and enjoy TV or video games. How would they feel then sitting down and watching people talk about “society sucks and everything’s racist” for literally 5 hours straight? I’d feel pretty shitty too. I hate the news, I don’t need to be told how to feel or what my values should be. I want to fucking think for myself. Politicians are all cunts and the media just wants money. I don’t trust anyone rich no matter their skin color or political position. Don’t give a shit if you’re a black liberal woman, if you are part of the media machine, fuck off.

Big corporations nowadays are being exposed for the hypocrites they are. They just go where the money goes without much care without much care to the causes or movements they’re funding. I feel we’ve reached a tipping point in society.

Probably the 1990s. On the otherhand, the 2010s and definitely the early 2020s so far have been very politicaly preachy and to a pretty annoying degree.
