I.e. non-adjacent eras that share a lot of similarities. I know this may be decadeology but I still thought this would be an interesting topic. Here are my thoughts:
Late 2000s - Late 1980s Stock market crash, Nintendo is very popular, cheap-looking cartoons, neon clothing, a prominent Batman movie comes out
Early 2010s - Late 1990s EDM, lighthearted and cheesy vibe, apolitical, end of the world paranoia
Late 2010s - Mid 2000s Controversial right-wing president and lots of satire against him, angsty music, economic boom, hip-hop dominates music
Early 2020s - Early 1990s Racial protests, economic recession, massive societal upheaval

Early 2010s and early 90s
Neon aesthetics, economic crisis (albeit the recession had already ended in the early 10s), cheesy party music

Early 2010s and early 90s Neon aesthetics, economic crisis (albeit the recession had already ended in the early 10s), cheesy party music Here’s another interesting similarity I’ve just noticed. Puzzle games were very popular in both eras. Early 90s had Tetris, Columns, Dr Mario, and Dr Eggman’s Mean Bean Machine, whilst the early 10s had Angry Birds, Portal 2, Cut the Rope, and Candy Crush. In both cases, advancements in portable gaming are largely responsible, with the early 90s having the Game Boy, and the early 10s having mobile games.
