I don't get it. Felt like it went from horrible to awesome overnight. Is it because COVID inspired musicians to be more creative or something? I would believe that but the best popular song of the early 2020s, Caution by the Killers, was recorded and made before the pandemic. I guess people just got sick and tired of bad music.

I really don't think people realize sometimes how bad music actually was for the majority of the 2010s. It's like drinking Family Dollar Soda to 7up literally.

Throwback sounds and pop punk are getting lame to me. I mainly stick to rap because it actually feels fresh rn.

John, I think you just notice trends earlier than the rest of us. You're gifted at that. But the general public was not into punk at all in 2019.

Unlike the 10s, the early 20s has decent music. But it would be a great era of music if there wasn't so much autotune everywhere.

Seems more diverse than the borefest that was sometime in 2017 through mid 2018.

I find this era very uninspiring and forgettable, I can't even seem to remember most of what was popular in 2021. And so far 2022 is extremely creatively bankrupt with old songs lingering way too long on the charts it's ridiculous. I prefer the late 2010s, even for the sole reason of music having a more distinctive feel back then.

Late 10s music actually had it's own personality and sound Early 20s music is literally just old music genres revamped lol

Agreed, Hip-Hop and r&b are the freshest genre right now. Specifically Rap because it hasn't been taken over by Throwbackmania yet

I would rather have unoriginal music that doesn't suck at least. I am all for making new sounds but make it good at least.
