What year of the 90s did you hate & why ? I have trouble hating a full year but something like this: 1.Fall into Winter 1999: The build up right before 2000 was not as exciting as remembered, something gimmicky and marketing oriented was more apparent towards the end, like it just wasn't as interesting, scary and exciting as it was was when discussed in 1996-earlier 1999, also late 1999 felt very cringe with ricky martin, lou vega's mambo number 5, jenniper lopez erasing diversity on the charts and being played every 3 min on every radio station, pop culture got preppier by the minute at this time. It just seemed like the cringy things from earlier 1999 increased while some of the good parts of things from earlier year and back continued to fade. 2.Summer 1998 : Definitely the least interesting and more boring part of the 90s, I would never revisit this period ever again, people make it more old school than it was. Even though it had a modified 1997 atmosphere that was transitional, nothing really stuck out too much in most of the summer until a bit towards the end, it overall felt boring, slow and dull. 3.1993(early 94) : Still a great and awesome period but doesn't have the completeness that other years have that are overwhelmingly early or mid. Although a number of things were darker and edgier than earlier, lot of pop culture felt like a watered down, mediocre or diet coke version of 1989,1990,1991,1992. a lot of people, not all, overrate this period because they never experienced the entirety of early 90s, so it's what they fall back to. Also lots of core culture popped out in 1993 more than late 1992 and a lot of it was carried through till the end of the decade, but only the early 90s aspects emphasized.

Unlike the 2010s and even 2000s, there isn’t any 90s year I downright hate. However, of all the 90s years, the one that stands out to me as probably the worst is 1990. The year is very cheesy filled with hair metal and pop rap like Vanilla Ice. Sure The Simpsons came out but otherwise most cartoons were still badly animated toy-driven shows like they were in the 80s. Whilst Super Mario Bros 3 came out that year, you also had all the LJN shovelware coming out and people were getting tired of the NES. Movies were actually pretty good tbh though and are the main reason I don’t completely hate it, but even then, it’s only middle-tier. Home Alone, Total Recall, BTTF 3, and Goodfellas all stand out amongst movies from that year, but otherwise not much great outside that and also lots of cheesy movies like Ghost.

Yeah like early 98 barely makes the grade, 98 def had this watered down not good enough vibe, it felt just hollow and boring ( kind of a 2010s boring vibe) Just something in the air felt off. Like off off lol One of the most interesting things was Yo Yos taking off Q1 of 98, was so damn strange seeing that happen, I remember there was Duncan, Omega, Silver Bullet, Black Mamba, Viper

Kinda odd how it just came out of nowhere as a fad, considering Yo-Yos have been around for 50+ years, just goes to show you how they were desperate at the time lol.
