Don't think nightmarefarm was saying that 2008 and 2009 were fully 2000s years musically, but rather that they're not 100% 2000s or 2010s. And I'd have to agree. Personally, I think 2009 is about 50/50 2000s and 2010s. Because you could tell the 2000s zeitgeist was dying off, you know how? Because rock music was beginning to decline around that time. In 2007, people were obsessed with bands like My Chemical Romance, Fall Out Boy, and Three Days Grace. By 2009 however, it was all about Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber. But there were lingering rock songs on the radio and rap was still kinda 2000s-sounding.

2013. Music from 2010 sucked! You seriously think the year of songs like Harlem Shake, Best Day of My Life, and What Does the Fox Say was a good year for music?

2009 was like 60% 2000s and 40% 2010s music-wise.

2009 is much more 00s musically. The thing that gives people bias about it is the 00s felt long in the tooth in 2009 and with a few songs that sound completely fresh and futuristic like poker face, people focused on that anre remember the year more for that kind of music when in reality there were also countless 00s music that people are forgetting about.
