In terms of all aspects of pop culture. Music, movies, TV. Here are my picks.
5. 1988 4. 1991 3. 2011 2. 1990 1. 1997
I might change these at some time...except 1997. Seriously, EVERYTHING about this year was extremely cheesy.

More like 1983-1991. 1997-2000 and 2009-2014 were also cheesy eras.

2000 2015 2010 2011 1997 1990 1991 1984 1988 1989 1988-1991 with the peak of hair metal was definitely a very cheesy period. Though I think 1986-1987 should be included too. Bon Jovi are one of the cheesiest bands ever in my opinion.

1996 isn't a super cheesy year like 1997 is, but it deserves an honorable mention for having one of the cheesiest songs of all time.

Bon Jovi are one of the cheesiest bands ever in my opinion. late 80s were so disgusting hahha The late 80s were pretty much “sex, drugs, and rock and roll” the era. Everybody was wearing mullets, hairspray, excessive makeup. Basically look at the band Poison, and you will see what I’m talking about. Late 80s to mid 90s were also the prime Gen X years culturally. But early-mid 90s kid culture was geared toward millennials, whereas EVERYTHING in the late 80s was geared towards Gen X, making it the ultimate Gen X era.
