Personally I think it is. I've seen some coverage of it in the last few days, but I'm not sure the hype can fully recover after two years off. The music fest itself will likely continue on for a while, but I think the whole festival style/culture may start to feel cheesy as we move deeper into the 2020's. It's just kinda stale now. Perhaps in the future it will seem like a 2010's thing. Thoughts?

I think so. The peak of Coachella in my eyes is 2015-2018, when millennials out-competed each other with this kind of fashion.

Nowadays I find it impossible for people to outcompete each other this way. Very not in trend and everything is about perceived authenticity/ uniqueness now. Looking at pics from Coachella 21/22 you can see that the same millennials are still dressing in the same way. It's almost like you can see them aging in realtime.

Meanwhile on the opposite side of the country among a younger demographic, there's a different style of "music fashion" that is emerging.

Music and buzz wise, Beyoncé's landmark 2018 headliner performance was the apex of that kind of west coast 2010s show biz vibe in my eyes. Every year since then it's been less interesting.

Yes that's when I would say it peaked too. I remember even for the 2019 season it was feeling a little stale. In 2018 I noticed the whole aesthetic starting to be noticeably pushed by big brands, like a bunch of makeup collections at Ulta, and it just felt like it was getting a little too mainstream to last much longer.

The bottom photos do feel way fresher right now.
