What are some things that was normal and prevalent in 2012 but super rare to see nowadays?
-Last year you can get away with not having a smartphone -Trans and Non-Binary topics were not that prevalent until a few years later. -Last pure late-millennial culture -Skeuomorphism was mostly alive. -Instagram was super amateurish and influencers were non-existent -Teens using Facebook -Seattle/Portland style Hipsters were the de facto style. -Swag and Yolo were cool words. -Famous people made edgy jokes and barely get cancelled. -Last era of classic memes before Doge/MLG style memes took over. -7th gen gaming still continued despite the release of Wii U. -Politics were not hyper-polarizing -Some 2000s leftovers were seen. -EDM/electropop was a big thing in music.

RayWilliamJohnson was very big in 2012, in fact, he was the biggest YouTuber on the platform. And now nobody cares about him.

A High School friend of mine made this while we were in computer class: I did help him making a YouTube account since he asked. This video is very cringy and quite dated I’m sorry but that made me laugh my ass off. It’s dated, but it’s the funny kind of dated. Like just the fact it’s made in Windows Movie Maker and has the Psycho music playing over it plus how dramatic it is coupled with the zero-budget editing.

Interestingly, Smosh is also experiencing a revival right now
While PewDiePie seems to be low-key on a decline, he comes across as a millennial trying to be gen z cool now, back in the 2010s he was the definition of YouTube cool
