Restrictions were lifting, things were easing up from the intense shitstorm that was 2020. Also some great songs and games came out then. Very chill year. Personally it was great for me as well. I'd say it's the best year since 2013.

Yeah, but 2019 was only 2 years before it. The grass was still greener on the other side of 2020.

Yeah, but 2019 was only 2 years before it. The grass was still greener on the other side of 2020. 2019 wasn't anything special it was just the last year before the coronamageddon. In 2021 restrictions lifted so we got to live like how we did before COVID and we still do now.

2021 was the worst year of the early 2020s especially since vaccines became mandatory that year and all our rights suddenly got taken away from us. But it is still part of the early 2020s which means good music, so it wasn't that bad in that regard.

Not in the UK where the final lockdown was lifted in June and Vax mandates were ruled out by the PM. I understand your perspective though, it may be the worst year for Canada and some states in America.

Lack of monoculture.

Lack of monoculture. 2022 is even less monocultural, thought it's very unlikely to be romanticized because of the Ukraine war I could see 2021 being romanticized in the future, but it will never be as loved as 2019.

Well, I can't deny that. 2019 is going to be very nostalgic for many people in the future because it's a pop culture finale year and a calm before the storm year. Even i'm a little nostalgic for it now.

For me personally, 2021 was hit and miss. The first half was full of personal struggles, but I loved the second half.
