Whilst 2010 is culturally an early 2010s year, unlike with 2011 or 2012, 2010 had many elements that connected it with the 2000s. These are mostly late 2000s elements since 2010 has practically zero in common with the early 2000s and a minimal amount in common with the mid 2000s. Here are those elements: -The Nintendo DS was still the current Nintendo handheld. -Windows XP was still the most popular version of Windows (at least for part of the year) -Steve Jobs was still alive. -The internet still had that carefree 2000s atmosphere rather than the drama-filled political atmosphere of the 2010s. -Major 2000s franchises such as Harry Potter and Shrek had releases in 2010. -Pixar was still making good movies (Toy Story 3). Speaking of Toy Story 3 Andy is seen using a flip phone in the movie. -Many YouTube videos were in standard-definition and still have that grainy quality to them. -Early 2010s YouTubers like Epic Rap Battles of History and Epic Meal Time were still not as big as they'd later become. RayWilliamJohnson was popular but not the most subscribed YouTuber yet. -Hipsters were still not mainstream yet. Scene kids were still the primary subculture among young people. I remember hearing about awful bands like Blood on the Dance Floor and Cash Cash that year. -The Iraq War was still ongoing. -Dubstep (and EDM in general) was not as big as it would become in 2011/2012. Nobody knew who the likes of Avicii for example were until 2011. -Minecraft was still in beta and, whilst popular, wasn't POPULAR POPULAR, as in, it wasn't "biggest game ever" territory yet.

Smartphones weren't that common in 2010 like it was from 2011 onwards. I remember people using mainly flip phones and feature phones that year. Also windows XP, internet explorer. Music was about halfway between the 00s and 10s even if electropop was popular there were still lots of 00ish sounding music in the first half of the year. HD wasn't common on the internet. I cba to list more stuff.

Taking photos with digital cameras. This is very true. Selfie culture wasn't a thing yet (granted, it wouldn't become a thing until the mid 2010s, but still), and a lot of pictures I saw of people on Facebook were from digital cameras. A lot of smartphone cameras still sucked and I don't really think digital cameras completely died off until the aforementioned rise of selfie culture in 2013, though even by 2011/2012, most people had switched to smartphones.

Internet was still mostly desktop computer oriented with most sites being incompatible with phone browsers and still having yet to launch an app version. Internet browsing on a phone was still a complete hurdle and you had to have a computer to properly surf on the web.

- American Idol was the most watched cable show in the USA. No The Voice nor The X Factor (in the states) in that year. - Most mainstream movies was still shot on film. pudding.cool/2018/08/filmordigital/
