Yuck, I really don't think a song should be per se hopelessly saccharine to count as your stereotypical Y2K song.
The example above has a very Y2K sounding production for instance, but it has also a great hook and a bit of edge too.

This screams Y2K to me.
The Max Martin/Denniz Pop style of pop is the quintessential Y2K (or moreso late 90s) sound in my opinion. And also my favorite style for pop.

The song is really sweet, although nothing exceptional for early 00s R&B. But try and tell me the music video for it is not peak Y2K futurism and optimism.
