What quarters would you say purely represent each era, and not anything transitional? Here are my thoughts:
Early 2000s Q3 2001 - Q4 2002
Mid 2000s Q4 2004 - Q3 2005
Late 2000s Q4 2007 - Q3 2008
Early 2010s Q1 2011 - Q1 2012
Mid 2010s Q3 2014 - Q1 2015
Late 2010s Q4 2017 - Q3 2018
Early 2020s Q2 2021 - present

The reason I regard Q4 2005 as the start of late 2000s influence stems from the Xbox 360 releasing and Smosh starting to make videos (thus marking the true start of YouTube culture). It was still overwhelmingly mid 2000s in terms of vibe though. How can it not be when that was when 50 Cent Bulletproof, Shadow the Hedgehog, and Need for Speed: Most Wanted all came out?

And it ended in early 1989, just prior to the release of the Game Boy and Sega Genesis, and the premiere of Seinfeld and Saves By the Bell, which all occurred in mid 1989, and then in late 1989, the Berlin Wall fell and The Little Mermaid came out, then in early-mid 1990, The Simpsons premiered, and Windows 3.0 came out. Of course, the early 90s vibe was solidified in mid 1991, when the Super Nintendo was released, Sonic the Hedgehog was released, the first three Nicktoons were released, and the failed Soviet coup which is what led to the USSR collapsing.

I do agree I should have put late 1987 instead of late 1986 as the beginning of the peak late 80s. However I disagree about 1991. The early 90s culture were not solidified until the Grunge explosion towards the end of the year and what exactly is the significance of the Soviet coup if the collapse itself of the USSR didn't occur until December?
