I do find it kinda odd that Metal Hammer, a heavy metal magazine, is talking about My Chemical Romance. I remember how pissed off metalheads were at emos throughout the 2000s, and then they got pissed off at scene kids. Still, just goes to show how big these bands truly were in their heyday. Even though video game magazines were not as prevalent as they were in the 90s (due to the rise of the internet + G4 TV), they did at least HAVE a prevalence, which they did not at all in the 2010s.

Great choice of magazines and makes perfect sense to use the 2000s. Although print will likely not go away for along time, 2000s could be def be seen as the decade were print was more mandatory and magazines still had more of presence even you didn't need to exclusively rely on magazine since you could find a lot online but not everything was instant back then like today. We couldn't solely rely on the internet in the Y2K/early 2000s portion for everything under the sun, which is honestly why the most older magazines I have outside of the 90s are from then. I remember there was there was this weird dismissive attitude about magazines/print in starting in the late 2000s but really kicking off 2009-2011 there was this assumption that kindle and ipads would totally kill off magazines at some point with digital versions. Being a magazine/comic geek I really loathed that idea lol. Too bad not everyone prefers that and they weren't exactly correct. Even if sales are not like before and might continue to decline, there's always a value in holding a real book and magazine. I have tons of 90s and 2000s magazines I was planning to upload like thrasher (skate magazine) wizard (comics), mad magazines, gamepro, nintendo power, and music magazines: circus, kerrang, alternative press and metal edge. I should upload a few at some point or find them. There are a few high times very iconic 2000s magazines out there for sure. Really good.

The magazine from which I learned of the word ''sex'', or at least I think it was this one. I was just 4, and I wouldn't actually know what that word meant until I was 10, but I was aware of that word because of this mag.

Eminem might've arguably been overexposed during the early 2000s, but at least said artist being overexposed was somebody actually talented and deserving of his popularity. I couldn't say the same for when Soulja Boy was everywhere in the late 2000s, or Justin Bieber in the early 2010s before his EDM transformation. And don't think I'm trying to shit on newer or modern music either because Vanilla Ice was also overexposed and everywhere in the early 90s, and he's easily one of the worst and most talentless rappers of all time.
