Like how people split the early 00s in half as Y2K early 00s(2000 - Sept 2001) and the "real" early 2000s(Sept 2001 - 2004) the early 20s will be split like this:
COVID era - 2020 - 2022
Post COVID era/Russia-Ukraine war era - 2022 - 202X.
If there is a big enough shift later this year like I predicted then instead 2020 - Late 2022 will just be seen as one everchanging era and Very Late 2022 or NYD 2023 onwards will be seen as the mid 20s.

No way. We're still completely in the era of 2020 now and COVID is NOT gone yet. Just Google COVID and you'll see the first thing on the results are the daily cases in your region... Furthermore, music is still very much retro pop as it was in 2020 and has the same similar sound. If anything, the war in Ukraine is only a hint of what we will see in the MID 2020s. Early 2020s are still very much in effect now and it's the same era as 2020. Either later this year or in 2023, we will start to see a shift into the mid '20s era.

All that's left is for it to be officially marked off as an endemic.

The reason they haven't announced an endemic is probably because they're gonna introduce a new strain in the fall. And we'll be back to lockdowns in no time. I hope that doesn't happen but it probably will since that is what happened in 2020 and 2021. It was quieter in the summer and just when you thought it was over boom fall came and more restrictions were in place.

If the pandemic was over, then why did I see a lady today at the bus stop wearing a mask while she was OUTSIDE?

The future of 2022 largely depends on COVID. Have we defeated the virus once and for all, or will the virus mutate yet again, to cause even more chaos and ruin?
